A trip to the cinema is always fun – just maybe not for your wallet. With tickets now soaring to over £10 per ticket, it’s now essential to find a deal. Here’s one that does just that.

Cinema chain Odeon has some of the most expensive tickets in the country. For me to see the new Star Wars movie at my local Odeon would cost £13.25 per adult and £10.25 per child. Got a family of four, and that’s £47!

Luckily there is a deal on right now  that will get you 5 cinema tickets for £20 – less than half price and one left over! Here’s what to do:

How to get it

This deal is available on Groupon, where they are offering either 2 for £10 or 5 for £20 cinema tickets.

2 tickets for £10 would put them at £5 each (which is still good), although buying 5 for £20 drops the price to £4 each. Even if you don’t have that many people to go to the cinema with, you can save them for next time.

To claim the deal, you’ll have to purchase the tickets through Groupon to get the cheap rate, and you’ll then be sent an email confirmation with the voucher codes you’ll need to put into Odeon’s website.

You can use the tickets on adults and children, and you can see most films. Some of the future releases cant be purchased until they are released (see full T&Cs on Groupon’s website). You can see the big films out now like Star Wars, Frozen 2 and Little Women.

The tickets will be valid from Fri 17 January until Fri 20 March, and can be redeemed on 2D films only, at any Odeon cinema.

You can only book the tickets online (you cant take the codes into a cinema), which means there will be a 75p booking fee when you book each ticket, but it’ll still be a lot cheaper than paying full price.

These tickets with Groupon are usually pretty popular, so if it’s something you want – go quick before they sell out.

I hope you’re feeling like a movie star if you get some tickets for £4 each. You could maybe accompany your cinema trip with a free McDonald’s via its app, or get some waterproof mascara for the sad films with the upcoming Boots 70% off sale.

Will you be getting some cheap cinema tickets? I’d love to know in the comments below, on Twitter @Jordon_Cox or on Facebook.
