I can spot a PR stunt from a mile off, but I had a press release through to my email just now that actually made me laugh out loud. And it’s semi deal related – so it might be worth knowing about (or laughing over).

So, Monday 20th January is known as ‘Blue Monday’ right? It’s supposed to be the most depressing day of the year, due to the lul after Christmas and struggle to pay day (if you believe in all that).

Companies usually hop on the bandwagon and offer deals and discount to people to get them through the day. In previous years, there have been really good deals like a free burger at GBK for instance.

Well this year, KFC is getting involved, and it’s just so random it made me laugh. Yes, you can walk into KFC and pick up a gravy pot for free… and walk back out.

I’m fully aware that some of you make your roast dinners swim in gravy – but the idea of someone walking into KFC and skipping away gleefully with just a pot of gravy filled me with joy!

I’m assuming they want you to buy something with it, like fries or a chicken wing, but if the saying is true, gravy does solve all problems – even on Blue Monday!

If you’re actually interested, here’s how to claim it:

How to claim your free gravy

Simply head into any KFC restaurant on Monday 20th January and ask the cashier for the ‘Blue Monday gravy offer‘ and they should give you a pot of gravy for free, either with your meal or on its own.

There is no purchase necessary and you can only claim one per person – so you could take in your whole family and come home with an abundance of gravy!

I don’t know why this tickled me so much – but it did. Hopefully you get some use out of it – or at least something to smile at.

You could combine this with a McDonald’s daily deal to make a super cheap lunch, or you could perhaps take your gravy to the cinema to watch a £4 movie (anything is possible after seeing this!)
