There are a lot of different cashback apps out there – but this one is now one of my favourites. Here’s how the JamDoughnut app works.

Whether you’re shopping at the supermarket, in a clothes shop or at a restaurant… there’s a lot of money that can be saved through cashback.

Online cashback from the likes of TopCashback and Quidco are great, but in can take weeks to redeem, and there’s never been anything for in store shopping.

Until now – the JamDoughnut app now fits that bill and can save you £100s a year instantly.

Here’s how it works, and what you can save money on:

JamDoughnut – How Does It Work?

JamDoughnut is an app available for download on both iOS and Android devices.

It’s a cashback app that works in a slightly different way to the ones you know and love.

Cashback is earned by purchasing a gift card for the retailer you’re about to shop at, and receiving cashback on that purchase immediately. You can then use the gift card you’ve bought to shop normally – with cashback in your back pocket.

For example, if you buy a £50 gift card for Nando’s, where JamDoughnut has 7% cashback, they’ll give you £3.50 back into your account, which you can then withdraw as cash.

So in reality, you’ve only really spent £46.50 to get £50 of credit.

You can find supermarkets such as Asda, Morrisons & Sainsbury’s, lots of restaurants including Harvester & Pizza Express, and high street stores such as Argos & Curry’s – all available to get money back on using JamDoughnut.

The gift cards are all so easy to use, either having a QR code to show to a cashier, or a code to enter online getting your credit.

JamDoughnut App – £2 Free Using Referral Code R2GX

There is an offer currently on for new sign ups to the JamDoughnut app.

Once downloaded, you can get up to £2 worth of free credit when you buy your first gift card!

When signing up, enter the code R2GX and you’ll be given 200 points when you make your first purchase.

You’ll need to earn a minimum of £10 in order to withdraw, but that should be very easily done with the offers.

Going on one family meal out using JamDoughnut, or a few weekly shops at the supermarket will get you enough to cash out.

The Best Ways To Use JamDoughnut

I’ve been using the app for a while now – so I’ve figured out the best ways to use it in a few scenarios:

Supermarkets

If you’re a loyal shopper of a supermarket with a cashback offer – pre purchase a gift card for an estimate of what you’ll spend before you head into the supermarket.

You’ll receive a gift card through the app, which you can then scan at the checkout (or self checkout) after you’ve shopped.

You’ll have already received the cashback once the gift card was bought, so you don’t have to fumble around at check out – and don’t technically have to take any cash.

Restaurants

If you’re eating at a restaurant with cashback on JamDoughnut – I’ve always found it better to ask for the bill at the end of the meal.

Once you know the exact amount your food has come to – head over to the JamDoughnut app and purchase a gift card for the full amount.

It comes through immediately after purchase, so you can use it there and then – while earning cashback.

And a side note – you can use JamDoughnut on top of restaurant vouchers too. As the vouchers are a discount on the meal, and the gift card is a form of payment – you can double the discounts!

Rare Brands With Cashback Available

There are 140+ retailers offering cashback on JamDoughnut – some of which you’re hard pressed to find a discount elsewhere.

Supermarkets are the first port of call. Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, M&S and Waitrose are all included – potentially saving you a nice amount of cash on your weekly shop.

Other retailers like John Lewis, Airbnb, Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber are all available for cashback. Usually it’s quite hard to find discounts on retailers like these.

How Much Have I Saved With JamDoughnut?

I’ve been using the JamDoughnut app for around 12 months now. It can be easy to forget to use it – because there are so many brands on there that you wouldn’t even think to check for.

In total, I’ve saved up £646.09 into my JamDoughnut balance – but this could have been higher.

A large part of this was booking several Airbnb holiday trips using the 5% cashback on JamDoughnut – so that was £150 on it’s own!

There rest have been bits and pieces here and there – most of which Uber Eats, JustEat or something else food related!

Conclusion – JamDoughnut App

The JamDoughnut app is another great way to save money – with some great options for brands hard to get discounts on.

It’s also great in the sense that you can stack the JamDoughnut cashback on top of voucher codes and other discounts – doubling the amount you save.

Hopefully this helps you out – and remember the code R2GX to get you £2 in free cash!

Fancy earning cashback with no effort needed? I’ve earned over £100 just from having Airtime Rewards installed on my phone. Here’s how it works:

Link your cards to this one app, and every time you spend money in one of its retailers – you get cashback. Doesn’t matter how much you spend, and you don’t need to click any buttons before you buy.

That means you’ll get between 1-10% back every time you spend at Boots, Waitrose, Primark, Debenhams, Pizza Express, Papa John’s, Wilko and many more.

The cashback you earn can’t be withdrawn as cash, but instead it’s linked to your phone contract/pay as you go sim.

Once you’ve banked enough cash to withdraw (usually £5 or £10), you can redeem it, and it’ll come off your bill for the month, or be added to your credit.

The app is called Airtime Rewards, and it’s one of my favourites. Here’s an overview of to get started on it:

Download Airtime Rewards and register

Airtime Rewards is available on iOS and Andriod. Once downloaded, fill out a few details to create your account. If you wanted a bonus, you can get 50p for free for using my promo code TEMMNEV4 (and you’ll also get a £1 bonus if you spend in the first 7 days).

Link your cards & start shopping

Any cards that you would shop with, make sure to add to your account. Airtime Rewards can be linked to Visa and Mastercards (but not AMEX), and you can add as many cards as you like.

Once they are linked, it will track all of your spending on those cards, and if you shop at a retailer on Airtime Rewards, you will get cashback. The rate of cashback varies per retailer, but the average is around 4-5%.

There is no maximum amount of cashback you can earn on an order too, so spending £500 at Argos for example will net you £25 cashback (as you get 5% back).

There is usually around 35 days from the time you shop until the time the cashback is payable, so it’s not going to be a quick way to make some money – but it should passively work when you’re not even thinking about it.

Once you have hit the minimum threshold (which varies by network provider), you can redeem your money under the ‘rewards’ tab in the app.

Get £1.50 Free With Airtime Rewards Promo Code

For signing up and entering an Airtime Rewards promo code, you get 50p for free, and then an extra £1 bonus if you spend within the first 7 days of having the app.

You can enter my Airtime Rewards referral code which is TEMMNEV4 to get £1.50 free if you don’t have one.

As said above, you need to spend from one of its retailers in the first 7 days to get the extra £1 bonus… but there is no minimum spend on this to unlock it.

This means, to unlock the extra £1 (even if you weren’t going to spend), you can pop into Boots and get a chocolate bar for 50p… and you’ll still get the bonus issued to you. A great way to earn a little extra cash!

It’s important to note that you can share your referral code with as many friends as you want to get the app and start saving. With each one that you get to sign up, you earn 50p, and so do they.

If you use a promo or referral code to sign up (TEMMNEV4) , and manage to find 9 friends, you’ve made your first £5!

You can earn a lot of extra cash from referring your friends. See my refer a friend blog for how to make £100s.

How To Stack Cashback

The thing that I love about this app, is that you can stack it with other cashback. If you’re signed up to either TopCashback or Quidco, and a retailer is on Airtime Rewards as well, you use both.

(If you want to know more about TopCashback – see my TopCashback Guide).

To stack the cashback – click through the cashback website online and pay on one of your linked cards. This will mean you can get double the cashback from 2 different places.

Here is some of the stacking you can do right now:

  • Topman – up to 11.6% cashback (6.6% on TopCashback, 5% on Airtime Rewards)
  • Debenhams – 9% cashback (5% on TopCashback, 4% on Airtime Rewards)
  • Boots – 8.3% cashback (3.3% on TopCashback, 5% on Airtime Rewards)
  • Halfords – 10.4% cashback (5.4% on TopCashback, 5% on Airtime Rewards)

That’s a lowdown for you on how Airtime Rewards works (and how to use it to your advantage). I hope you end up saving some money with it.

Since signing up my mother and my partner, we have accumulated £40 between us all in a short time – which we wouldn’t have got otherwise.

If you want some more ways to make some extra cash, you can earn passive vouchers with Gener8 Ads.
