Everybody loves a freebie, and this is one of my favourites. Everybody can get a free KFC side, and it’s nice and simple to claim.

Whether popcorn chicken is your tipple or just want a free Pepsi drink, you can get it at KFC. They aren’t known for doing deals all that often (apart for 20% off with a survey on its receipts), so this is a great freebie.

To get this, you’ll need to sign up to the KFC loyalty scheme and then you’ll be clucking sorted!

What is the KFC Loyalty scheme?

KFC has its own loyalty scheme which you can either grab a card in store or sign up to its app (either on the App Store or Google Play) and use it digitally.

Every time you spend in a restaurant, you earn its currency of ‘chicken stamps’ which you can build to claim rewards. You’ll have to spend a minimum of £3 to earn a stamp, but if you spend over £15 in one transaction, you earn 2 stamps.

The rewards you earn are a pretty decent return too, as it’s such a low minimum spend to earn stamps. Here are the rewards you can get:

3 stamps – Free side

Choice of a small popcorn chicken, 2 hot wings, a soft drink (Pepsi etc), sundae or regular fries.

7 stamps – Free snack

Choice of mini fillet burger, snackbox, regular popcorn chicken, 4 hot wings, large side, lil wrap, Krushem or Kreamball.

11 stamps – £5 off

No minimum spend on this one – just get £5 of free food.

For all of the above rewards, to claim it you’ll need to head into a restaurant and scan your card/app. You’ll need to let the cashier know that you’d like to redeem a reward on whichever item you are purchasing, and it will be free.

There is no minimum spend on any of them, so you don’t have to get a whole meal – you can just grab your freebie and pay nothing.

How to get a free KFC side

Getting a free side at KFC couldn’t be simpler… just sign up to the loyalty scheme. As a bonus for joining, you immediately get given 3 chicken stamps for free.

Of the options, the most expensive (and best value) is the small popcorn chicken priced at £1.99.

There’s no minimum spend on it either, which means you can just sign up, walk in and claim some free food, and be on your merry way. Of course, if you eat at KFC regularly, you can save them up for a bigger reward too.

And that’s it! Hopefully this gives you a tasty freebie to keep you going through to the weekend. You can pair it with a 1p tea or coffee if you wanted to make a nice little lunch! You can also save £5 on a £15 spend at McDonald’s this month too.
