2020 has been a hard year for pubs and restaurants – so to get some bums on seats, new offers and deals keep popping up.
And while in the month of August, you can save money with Eat Out to Help Out, it excludes alcoholic drinks.
Luckily, there’s a deal for a free drink of your choosing with Ember Inns pubs. Here’s how to claim it:
How to get a free drink at Ember Inns pubs
Ember Inns pubs are located around the country. They may not be as widespread as other pubs chains, but there may be one near you. Be sure to have a check if there’s one nearby first.
To claim yourself a free drink at Ember Inns pubs, it’s a pretty easy process. All it takes is a smartphone.

Step 1) Download the Ember App
On the Ember Inns website, when looking at the app page, it mentions the fact you can get a free drink when you download it.
Step 2) Register an account
Once the app is downloaded, head over to the ‘wallet’ section of the app, where it will ask you to register.
Fill out the form to sign up for an account. In here, you can also see which Ember Inns pub is the closest to you.
Step 3) Get your free drink
Once filled out, wait a few seconds, and you’ll see a free welcome drink pop up in your app’s wallet. This can be used at any Ember Inns pubs, although it may say on it, it’s only valid for the closest one to you.
The app gives you options of the drink you can choose. This includes Gordon’s Pink Gin & Tonic, 125ml glass of Canyon Road, 125ml Oyster Bay Rose, pint of Twilighter Ale, pint of Hop House 13. Robinson Mint & Lime cordial or a regular draught soft drink.
You’ll be given a QR code when you activate the offer, which you’ll need to show to the person behind the bar to get your drink.
This freebie should save you between £2-5 on your drink, and if you go with a group, you can all download the app and get yourself a free drink.
There we have it! A nice easy way to get your hands on a nice cold one without spending a penny. You can combine this with the Eat Out to Help Out too on Mondays to Wednesdays, if you wanted a meal with your drink too.
