Update: This deal has now expired. Sorry if you didn’t manage to get one.

While you’re here, check out my other blogs:

It seems there is a battle between manufacturers about who can price their smart speakers lowest – because there’s a great deal on Amazon Echo Dot 3rd Gen right now.

Just a few days ago, you could get a Google Nest Mini for free (or £9.99) – but it sold out very quickly. Though that deal was more complicated than it should’ve been.

This new one however from Amazon (clearly trying to rival that deal), is in fact a little bit cheaper.

You can get an Amazon Echo Dot 3rd Gen + 1 month of Amazon Music Unlimited for £8.98 (if you’re an eligible customer – and never had Amazon Music before).

This deal is much easier to get too (phew!) – here’s how to get it:

Amazon Echo Dot 3rd Gen for £8.98

Update: You now need to be a Prime member to claim this deal (but you can do this for free – see how below).

To get this deal, there aren’t a million links to click. The offer is on the Amazon Echo Dot page in which you’d usually buy it from. All that it takes is adding it to your basket.

As soon as you land on the page, the offer will show up – get an Echo Dot 3rd Gen for 99p, when you sign up to a months worth of Amazon Music Unlimited (which is £7.99).

Note: If you’re on mobile, and have the app installed, the deal will not work. You’ll need to use your mobile browser or a desktop.

Simply add the deal to your basket and checkout. By doing this, you are automatically signed up to Amazon Music Unlimited (at £7.99 a month), and you’ll be sent your Amazon Echo Dot in the post.

You are able to cancel your subscription to Amazon Music, and stop it from auto renewing – so you’ll only have to pay for one month to get the Echo Dot (which usually costs £49.99).

Some people have reported that they aren’t eligible for the deal after logging in. So be aware, that it might not work in every instance.

The price of £8.98 is for Amazon Prime members. You used to able to get it for £2 more if you didn’t have Prime, but the offer has now changed. But, you can still get it:

Sign up for a Free Trial of Amazon Prime

If you’ve never used Amazon Prime before (and sometimes if you have a long time ago), you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime.

It lasts for 30 days, and gets you one day delivery on products ordered through the website, and of course, gets you access to the deal.

Of course, it will mean another subscription for you to remember to cancel (as it’ll charge £7.99 after the trial), but you can do this straight away so you don’t forget.

After you’ve signed up, just follow the same steps as everybody else to pick up the deal.

Terms & Conditions

To get the deal, you must be a new subscriber to Amazon Music Unlimited. If you’ve ever signed up to it (even for a free trial), you wont be able to get it.

This is until stocks last – and we aren’t sure of how many they have available. So if this is something you want – I’d go sooner rather than later.

Make sure you do cancel your subscription before it’s going to auto-renew, if you are only signing up for the deal. You are allowed to cancel at any time.

I’ve ordered myself a Google Nest Mini from a few days ago, and got this today. I may not need them both, but I have the option of selling them for more – or saving them for Christmas presents.

Considering its usual price is £49.99 (though you can usually get it for around £25) – it’s a great gift idea.

If you don’t want the Echo, but like the idea of Amazon Music Unlimited, you can sign up for a 30 day free trial here.

Conclusion

There we go! Everyone will be having smart speakers coming out of their ears soon!

Please do ask yourself if you’ll need it before going right ahead and buying – as if you won’t make use of it, it could be wasted cash.

If you manage to get it – please do let me know! I’d love to see pictures of you rocking out to your Echo Dot that you got for less than a tenner!

I can’t believe the offer has expired already. I signed-up to Amazon – what a total waste of time.
